Hello, (Planet Debian readers of the) world!

I'm a Debian Maintainer currently undergoing the New Maintainer process. I'm also an Ubuntu MOTU as of recently. I have several packages in a variety of categories, but I specialize in Python-based software.

I'm interested in exploring more ways to improve cross-distribution coordination, specifically as it relates to the Debian Sugar packages. I'm working to get all of the Ubuntu-specific Sugar packages included in Debian, which will probably be a summer-long effort.

  1. Hi Luke, welcome on board!

Are you in touch with the Debian-edu developers? they seem to be maintaining the "education-desktop-sugar" metapackage which is surely related to your Debian plans in the near future :-) You should surely consider joining the debian-edu@lists.debian.org mailing list.

Since you come from Ubuntu, which is a derivative distribution, you might also be interested in http://wiki.debian.org/DerivativesFrontDesk and in joining the debian-derivatives@lists.debian.org mailing list.

Thanks a lot for your contrbutions to Debian!

  2. Thanks for the welcome, Stefano!

Yes, I am, although I mostly work with debian-olpc. I've taken over responsibility for education-desktop-sugar, and will join the mailing list.
